courtney & jeff: glen sanders mansion

September 11 2009

In typical Labor Day fashion we had two weddings last weekend and Courtney & Jeff’s was our Sunday wedding. It was again another awesome day with nothing but blue sky’s. Really the whole day into night was just perfect. Courtney & Jeff live in Boston and pretty much planned their whole wedding from out of the area. They tied the knot at the First Reformed Church in the Stockade section of Schenectady. What an awesome looking church, I really enjoyed shooting there. After that we took some photos outside the church and in the surrounding areas. We found an Elario red wall and took a few shots there but then it was off to Glen Sanders Mansion for cocktails. Courtney & Jeff also scheduled a little extra time between the ending of their ceremony and the beginning of cocktails. I’m digging this trend. The room looked awesome and had the monogram on the dance floor which is a nice little touch. DJ Paul Malo (518.383.3978) had all of the guests dancing from the very first dance set of the evening. The good thing about out of town peeps is they party their butts off. After dinner Courtney & Jeff surprised everyone with a serious salsa dance. Who knew Jeff had it in him? These guys got some crazy moves. Did I mention videographers Cheryl & Amanda from CASL Productions were on the scene? We just worked with them the day before but twice in one weekend was a nice treat. This really was a great wedding with some awesome people to end the summer with. Bring it on fall! Courtney & Jeff, congrats to you both and thanks for having us!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

From the start of the day Courtney was ready to go!

She made an awesome bride.

Personally I think four is a perfect number for bridesmaids/groomsmen.

Here’s an HDR of the church.

A fun ring shot. I had to duck so I wasn’t in the reflection but I decided to hop in one for fun.

I call this one “going to the chapel”

What an awesome church!

One of my favs.

Here’s that red wall.

The newly renovated room at the mansion.

Back outside for some of that good good light. My #1 fav all day.

Its like the same light from their engagement session.

A spin off of the shot above.

Got any chips for that salsa? How fun is this dress? I think Courtney might start a trend here.

So went outside for more!

I’ll close with this image. I love the new entrance at the mansion, so nice.

Ok, this is the first I’ve commented, but I peak at your work all the time. I’ve was referred to you by a bride-also noticed an ad you did in Rangefinder mag. The ring shot in this post made me giggle! After hours of post production it’s refreshing to check out your site. Keep up the awesome work! And hey-have you ever thought about hosting a photo workshop?

I drove by the shoot when the ladies were outside Proctors and it looked like everyone was having a blast! Photos look great!

The pictures are amazing – I can’t wait to see the rest of them. Joe and JP you guys both did a great job. I love the shot of us girls and I know there must be many more amazing ones! Someday when I get married you will definitely be hearing from me!

Our son’s wedding went by in a flash! Memories of our handsome son and gorgeous daughter-in-love, are so precious to me. Seeing Jeff & Courtney’s day through your artistic eye is incredible! Am I seeing scenes I never saw that day or are they the same ones but filtered through your magnificent talent? Well, I am sure talent played a big part but you have to admit — you had a pretty awesome couple to work with!! Thank you and I second Carol — can hardly wait to see the rest!

  6. Cheryl / CASL Productions (09.11.09)

Joe & JP – Great working with you again! I’m loving the pix in front of the church…by the red wall…down by the river…outside at night (you get the picture).
Courtney & Jeff – Thanks for letting us share your big day with you. It was awesome to watch the two of you and the way you interact with each other – so sweet. Excellent dance routines too! Talk to you soon.

one more : Courtney & her Dad danced to the theme song from “Forest Gump” ( beautiful tune ) it was quite touching , & it has to do with my favorite City Savannah GA , fyi , JP attended Savannah Collage of Art & Design there . . reason he’s so good at this blog stuff.

  9. joe Elario (09.11.09)

If Jeff allows me . . his comment to both JP & myself as we were leaving : ” you guys were great , I actually felt as though Courtney & I have had two of our best friends . .taking the pictures” . As Billy F. would say . . .” That’s Hu u u g h -ja ” .
Many times I see these blog adds about the same time the public does . . . . come -on . that ring shot is too kool, you agree Mona?

WOW! Wait, when did they finish renovating that room in Glen Sanders? I thought it was supposed to be back in Feb? Is it more recent? LOVE the pic of the room… decor was so pretty too! and the church shot was amazing!!!! How’d you do that?

They look beautiful and happy – and with a costume change on top of it all! Very beautiful, congrats!
