katelynn & wallen: hall of springs

Posted in: Weddings

October 18 2011

On Friday October 14th 2011 we pulled up to an awesome hidden gem of a bed & breakfast in Saratoga Springs. Katelynn rented out The Springwater Bed & Breakfast for her family and bridesmaids to get ready in. I thought this place was awesome and only hope more of you brides and grooms out there consider beautiful alternative’s like this for your getting ready locations. Yes, it was raining again! Has it stopped raining? No, it has not. Whatever, I aint skurrrrd of no rain and neither was Katelynn or Wallen. In all honesty though, the rain had no factor on our day because our locations were bullet proof or waterproof ;) . Anyway, we then headed to the beautiful Hall of Springs. I always say this is the best venue to be at if its raining. All those outdoor coverings really help! Once our first look went down we banged out all the photos and captured some really beautiful stuff of our bride and groom. Then it was time for a wedding! The room was decorated beautifully by Experience and Creative Design. Seriously those were some tall drapes!! After that the party was in full swing. The Hall of Springs smoked this one. I loved all the creative food stations! Its nice to see something a little different and out of the box. Props to Katelynn and Wallen for going for it! Did I mention DJ Music Man Mike Garrasi had the floor packed all night? Al Woodard was getting some crazy dance footage of this couple!  This was a great wedding to set a three wedding weekend off with! I’ll take a couple like Katelynn and Wallen any day of the week! Seriously guys, we had so much fun with you out there dodging raindrops. Your friends are hilarious and your families are awesome. Thank you so much for kicking it with the Elario boys on 10.14.11! Enjoy wine country (I like reds). Stay happy and keep smiling!

Peace,
JP

You can tell from these images what a fun couple these two are!! I LOVE the bride’s details — the feathers and flowers and her shoes, her garter, etc. So gorgeous!! Oh and her shoes – black with the red bottoms! I love how unique it was!! This ceremony is one of my favorites from this year — it’s soooo unique and different, with the circle arrangement. I love the leaves down the aisle and all the candlelight!! I also love the groom’s reaction during their first look — so cute!! Definitely my favorite image from this blog. Congrats to Katelynn and Wallen! Great job Jp! :)

  2. Mona (10.23.11)

Oh very cool!!! It isn’t often you see a black/white wedding theme and I love it! A little fun and elegance all in one. Very cool tying in the bouquet, earrings, detail on the dress, the linens, bridesmaids and groomsmen of course. I like how the HOS took on a really intimate look with the chairs surrounding the couple as they wed. Again, this room can look so different from wedding to wedding. The drapes were AWESOME. Totally.
Now onto the happy couple :)
Katelynn you look beautiful! Again, gotta love a bride not intimidated by a little rain. You truly would not have known it was raining. Wallen was looking sharp – nice tie, and definitely love the first look.

This is really the fall I love seeing with those leaves… oh!!! Adds so much to what was a rainy day! And again, you really couldn’t tell. Looks bright, happy, so colorful. Love it. Congratulations guys!!!! :)

    ps – NICE. SHOES. :)

tammy & ryan: saratoga national

Posted in: Weddings

October 12 2011

To say that Saturday October 8th was one of the nicest days of the year would be an understatement!! Tammy and Ryan really had a beautiful day! We arrived up in Saratoga Springs to a home full of bridesmaids in blue dresses and the ladies from Make Me Fabulous. Once our bride Tammy was dressed we headed outdoors for some of that October goodness! Their dresses against the foliage was just perfect. Talk about color! Not to mention the super duper photogenic Tammy! She was killing it out there. After we wrapped up it was off to my all time favorite church in Saratoga Springs. The Bethesda Episcopal Church is one of the coolest churches in Saratoga Springs. I wish we shot their more often! After their ceremony we had some time to kill before cocktail hour at Saratoga National Golf Club began so we headed to Congress Park! Then once the party started, it didn’t stop. You can thank the Audio Stars for that! These people partied all damn night! Tammy and Ryan, thank you so much for choosing us! We had a blast with you, your families and friends! Such a fun day! Now enjoy the blog while you pack for your honeymoon!

Peace,
JP

Something blue?

Susan Truax from Make Me Fabulous finishing Tamny!

Tammy and mom get ready..

Love this one..

Each girl had their own flowers. These were two of my favorite bouquets..

Stop right there! Tammy, you be killin em..

This place is beautiful AND its a couple doors away from Starbucks so thats a bonus right?

A whole lot of Massachusetts accents right here.

Tammy and Dad, on deck..

If Ryan’s face doesn’t say it all, how about his mother? Love this image.

Tying the knot..

Sorry Mr Shea but you’re caught!! ;)

Welcome to Saratoga National.. we love Shannon!

Ryan wanted to recreate the famous lunchtime atop a skyscraper shot in NY from 1932 by Charels Ebbets.

We had to get some standard Saratoga National images!!

The color was off the hook!!!

If you can have your cocktail hour downstairs at SGNC do it.. its awesome! Obviously don’t even ask if its track season!!

  1. Tara Lynn Smyth (01.31.12)

    By far the best wedding

  2. Tammy (01.10.12)

They are LulaKate dresses. They are really kind of fun because you pick out what type of “skirt” you want (ie full, pencil, a-line) and then you pick from the different “tops” and they make it into a one piece dress…so you really design what you want in a way.

  3. Nicole (12.25.11)

I am loving the bridesmaid dresses! The blue is beautiful. Any info on who makes them?

  4. Cindy (10.14.11)

These pictures came out gorgeous!!! I love the fact that they tell a story … so much more than the typical shots you see! It was such a fantastic day and you really showcase that! Well done!

  5. Shauna (10.14.11)

Amazing pictures! I can’t believe how many great shots you got since it felt like I never saw you. They are all so beautiful. One of my favs is Wild Bill yawning in the church especially since it gives us a little more leverage on getting that pool!

  6. Jamie (10.14.11)

o.m.g. wonderful!! love the shots of the shoes and the cross necklace and the rings… love the bouquets…and you’re right, the blue dresses with the backgrounds were gorgeous… LOVE the emotion in the shot of Ryan seeing Tammy come down the aisle (and def his mom as well-awesome)..the duck could be your mascot, yanno, lol. Congrats to Tammy and Ryan! and i definitely love the church…wow. beautiful images of a beautiful wedding, JP! :)

  7. Alayne (10.12.11)

My new favorite place to get ready! The former Moons Lake House has been converted into a home for rent! 700 Crescent Ave. in Saratoga. Thanks Tammy to your parents for finding it. I wish I could have stayed with you all morning over looking the lake!!

  8. Mona (10.12.11)

JP first and foremost – happy birthday. I’m going to say it, you should not be blogging on your birthday!!! I know, dedication, but you deserve a day (and then some). Hope it’s great :)

Onto the blog. Mona loves fall weddings. Mona occasionally also likes to speak in third person. Seriously though, I start to see the colors popping through. I cannot WAIT to see the ones you will capture next weekend, around peak time! This is amazing, seems like you can feel the Indian summer light shining right through these pics.
What I love – the simple details, the blue shoes, blue coordinating dresses – I LOVE they have their own bouquets. That’s right brides, mix it up! Don’t be afraid to experiment. :)
The pic where you said “A lot of MA accents here” I swear I could almost hear them as I read that.

The church is awesome, the lines and details are incredible, and by far the best pic there is Ryan awaiting his lovely Tammy, with his mom clearly moved. Weddings, emotions, love it.
Tammy I have to say, you are quite photogenic, and why wouldn’t you be when looking so FABULOUS! :) I do love this. Congratulations to you both!!!! :)

Big Joe and JP – love the fall blogs. :)

  9. Lisamj (10.12.11)

These are the most stunning pictures I have seen…They reflect the day perfectly! They are so unique! Well done everyone! I think I’ll get married now…. :)

  10. joe Elario (10.12.11)

    great couple , w/great families & friends – in a great town . . . ” winners again” in Saratoga Springs .
Big Thanks to Tammy & Ryan for going with “Elario Photography, Inc.” .
BTW . . The Bethesda Episcopal Church w/good reverend Parks is always a home run . . ..

  11. Kelli (10.12.11)

Oh what can I say JP? You are a rock star and actually managed to make me look fab in photos (I promise it rarely happens!) So honored to have been a part of such an incredible wedding and loved to party all night, we kept that place rocking. Shout out to the Audio Stars, from a fellow singer you guys are the bomb :) And Uncle Billy will never live down that yawn as long as i am alive, i can smell the chlorine from the pool already. Ryan’s face really does say it all, a stunning bride for sure. Color is off the hook in these pics, glad to be a hit bouquet. Thank you from a dedicated blog stalker, even if i never got my pin!

  12. Kelley (10.12.11)

  15. Tatijana (10.12.11)

Wow, truly spectacular photographs. All the right moments captured at the perfect times! I love the colors. My favorite photo is of Tammy’s blue shoes along side Ryan’s blue socks and tie! So fun!! The black and white of there first dance is also priceless. Such amazing job on an even more amazing wedding!!!

  16. Tammy (10.12.11)

Yaaay!! I love all of them so so much. Both Ryan and I were so thrilled with the way our whole weekend went, this is icing on the cake! No to mention I can’t wait to make fun of my Dad – that photo for sure will get my MOH and I get our contracted pool! Busted!

  17. Elaine (10.12.11)

Beautiful!!! It’s hard for me to not love a fall wedding!! I just love all the colors – the fall leaves, the light, the blue/orange… And the Elarios always capture a fall wedding the best!! Even the “standard” saratoga national image is so far from just being standard!! And the one in the field – always love those! Tammy looks stunning (and fabulous!) and I love her blue shoes! That moment you captured of the groom’s and his mother’s face – beautiful and priceless!! And the one you captured of her dad (i think?) yawning… too funny! :) Great job Jp and Big Joe!! And Jp -thanks for posting a blog on your birthday! Now listen to your dad and take the rest of the day off!!

  18. Elaine (10.12.11)

Beautiful!!! I love all the colors in this blog – the fall leaves, the light, the blue/orange… I love the color of the leaves in the “standard” saratoga national image!! October 7 2011

OK so last Sunday wrapped up our first double in October! Only six more October weddings to go and I still have a free Saturday this month. You do the math.. Anyway Sunday October 2nd is the day we’re talking about in this blog post. It was Jamie and Josh’s big day. These guys hold the record for most farthest booking to date. Yup. They locked us down for their October 2nd 2011 wedding the first week of August in 2009!! Thats two years and two months!! Photography and art is super important to Jamie who is a graphic designer and designed all her wedding stuff too! So lets just say, she knew what she wanted WAY ahead of time. :)

This past Sunday at the Endres home you would find a super happy and smiling bride fresh out of the Make Me Fabulous chair. You would also find two beautiful English Bulldogs Josie and Zoey. I love bulldogs! While reading this you might be thinking back to a blog I posted in February. It was their engagement session! After Jamie got dressed Josh arrived just in time for the first look. Not only was he part of it but the bulldogs were as well. My favorite moment was when Zoey just sat right on Jamie’s gown. Too funny! Then we headed to Birch Hill for some more photos and a wedding!! The ceremony was set to be outside but will all the rain and a threat of more i was moved indoors. No problem because those girls at Fleurtacious Designs made the space look stunning. Why? Because thats what they do! Once the knot was tied it was party time! The New York Players took the stage and rocked the house as they always do. It was also a pleasure working with our good friend videographer Al Woodard. I think this was the 13th wedding we’ve worked together this season with Alfie! Jamie and Josh, thank you so much for choosing us! I’ve enjoyed getting to know you over the past two years. I love you dogs and so does Lexie. I hope your honeymoon is a blast!! See you in the dog park!

Peace,
JP

One from their winter engagement session.

jenny & phil: saratoga national museum of dance

Posted in: Weddings

October 5 2011

Back in late May of 2010 wedding coordinator Katie O’ brought a newly engaged couple to my office for a meeting. To say we clicked within the first 3 minutes would be an understatement. It was one of those meetings where I don’t even think we chatted all that much about weddings. We really just bs’d for an hour. After that meeting they were officially part of the Elario class of 2011. I’d run into them at Chipotle and other places when they weren’t at cross fit. They’re cross fit nuts! They’re also crazy about each other and the more I saw them and photographed them I realized this.

Ok so what is it about October 1st? Seriously I found myself waking up to the same weather last year! Cold and rainy? Ugh! Whatever. That don’t stop us though. Especially when we get a bride and groom like Jenny and Phil who don’t even mention what its like outside. We had a rain plan though, we always do. On my way up to  Saratoga I was on the phone fine tuning our plan with Katie since the rain shuffled us around a bit. No worries, I just tell Katie O’ what I think will work and she makes it happen. Seriously brides & grooms, invest in a planner. You cannot go wrong!! So now we arrive to the hotel to an enthusiastic scream out the window. I turn to Big Joe and simply say “that’s our groom Phil”. You gotta love Phil and his enthusiasm, the guy has an infectious energy that I feed off of. When I walked into the girls room there was Jenny, sitting in the Flawless by Tina chair getting all beautified. She looked awesome! After she got dressed we headed to the portico’s opposite the Hall of Springs because you can still be outside while being covered, its the best location for working in the rain. Shortly thereafter Phil showed up and I found myself coordinating a first look with the fella’s from Clark+Walker Studio who were filming the wedding. After that we did our thing for a little while, the rain stopped and started but really didn’t cramp our day at all. Then they tied the knot at the National Museum of Dance. After that, the party was then in the hands of Mazzone Catering and DJ Paul Malo! Out of the gate it was a great reception as Jenny and Phil held down the dance floor. They danced a lot and when they weren’t dancing they were bugging with Hayden in the Elario Photo Booth. So many great things about 10.01.11! Jenny and Phil, thanks for choosing us! I’m glad to have become friends with you over the past year and a half and really have enjoyed photographing you! See you somewhere soon I’m sure!

Peace,
JP

Unless you just started coming to this blog I’m sure you remember their engagement session as I just shot/blogged it 16 days ago!

The rain let up so we went out!

I love this spot on the grounds. It has such great lines.

Typical Jenny & Phil right here. Always laughing.

I love this and thats why this was my facebook teaser! Its going to be a wall print.

I love it! Off to get married.

The ceremony space

If you were there you know what Jenny said to make EVERYONE laugh.

I believe this was called the warming of the rings. They passed the rings thru to their parents before placing them on their hands.

Mr & Mrs..

The room looked lovely!

A quick little Elario configuration..

Party time!!

This was a cute little moment where Phil was checking out his ring.

Not even sure where to begin with this one. AMAZING. This is such a very special couple and to have you and your Pops alongside for this day was perfect. Sometimes a very special comes along and makes it all even more worthwhile…Phenny is that kind of couple. My favorite part of this entire post is that it was pretty much raining the entire day and you wouldn’t even know it….the joy, the laughter, the energy, the love all put together made for one sparkly day and you captured all of this in your images. Thank you and congrats to my “Phenny” can’t wait to plan the baby shower!!xoxo

I’d be lying if I said we haven’t been stalking you on FB for new blog posts! What an absolutely amazing surprise to return from booking a few water activities to find that today you did! We had such an incredible day on the 1st and you captured all of that excitement, love, and bliss! The photobooth pics are hilarious…Hayden is awesome! I don’t know how you do what you do with light, but damn!…You are the photo man! Give us a few years to make baby fouche’s and we’ll be knocking on your door again for some more photo-love. It was an absolute pleasure to work with you and your Dad (ceremony pics are AWE-SOME!) And yes, everyone needs a planner– Katie O’ is the best of the best– our wedding would not have been the same without her planning genius!!! Hope to see you and Kris Ann at chipotle soon. Much love, Phenny Fouche.
