an elario wedding

November 14 2011

There is nothing like a behind the scenes video! Whenever I have the chance to watch something behind the scenes I’m all about it. Thats why I love sharing with you all what it’s like on a wedding day. I can’t thank my buddy Jason Valentine enough for capturing this for us. Jason is obviously a master behind his lens and one hell of an editor. I mean how do you take a day that was roughly 11 hours and get it into a video thats just under 7 minutes? That takes talent! I couldn’t be happier with this video and can’t wait to hear what you all think of it. Thanks to Tanya & Dylan for letting us film our behind the scenes at their wedding. So sit back, relax and check out An Elario Wedding, by Jason Valentine.

Peace,
JP

  7. Jean (11.15.11)

Watching this video reminds me of the first time I met Big Joe. It was at my friend Jen’s wedding and she got ready at the Gideon Putnam. I was there in the hotel room where he shot and it didn’t seem like there was much to work with. Well when I saw her proofs, there was the Elario magic and I knew that there was no other choice of photographer when I got married. You both are amazing! Love these videos, thanks for sharing!

This makes me wish I was getting married again!! Jp, Big Joe, you guys are amazing at what you do, no doubt about that! But what separates you guys from the rest is that you truly care about people, and you make them feel like friends, rather than just clients! Hopefully we’ll get to see you sometime next year! ;)

  2. Mona (11.24.11)

Love this. Incredible how behind I am right now. :) Catching up. This is great. :)

thanks antonis… i appreciate the love! maybe sometime soon i’ll do something like that. i’m thinking of doing another video q&a post. stay tuned!

  5. Antonis (11.9.11)

JP – Amazing work, as always. Long-time blog stalker who can’t refrain from making this recommendation any longer. Your images are just incredible. I strive to achieve something similar with ever wedding and engagement I shoot. Have you given any thought to doing technical Q&A sessions, or a post dedicated to your shooting techniques and methods? Your use of “butter light” is incredible and I’d love to know how you handle some of the harsher lighting you encounter outdoors and indoors.

  6. Maria (11.8.11)

Love these behind the scenes videos! You seriously have the best job ever! Can’t wait for the rest of it.

  7. Kris Ann (11.8.11)

it’s about having fun

Posted in: Random, Video

February 3 2011

For those who know me you know I tend not to take myself all that serious. Really, I’m a total goof at times. Weddings are a fun time right? Well sometimes I just can’t contain myself and I just bust a move. It’s typically at the reception when it’s been a long day. Sometime’s certain songs set me off or whatever. Personally, I think I like to preform for Cheryl & Amanda from CASL Productions. Thanks to them, we have this little compilation of me in “goof mode” from 2010.

Peace,
JP

Disclaimer: These are my goofy moves.. I swear I have rhythm when I try.

a little video for ya..

Posted in: Featured Videos, Video

November 9 2010

I can’t begin to tell you all how happy I am about this video piece I’m sharing with you today. My good friend Jason Valentine shot and edited this for me. Jason went above and beyond my expectations and really outdid himself on this one. We shot this at Tiffany and Jonathan’s wedding on 10/24/10 which is still to be blogged btw. I have to thank them for being an awesome couple and participating in this promotional piece. Believe it or not, I didn’t have the pleasure of  meeting Tiffany or Jonathan until their wedding day. As you can see we got along quite well! Oh and they happen to own the Putnam Den up in Saratoga Springs. It’s a live music venue you must check out! I hope you all enjoy this 3 minute look inside a wedding day with yours truly.

Peace,
JP

ps.. If you read anything in this post read Tiffany & Jonathan’s comment below… for me it says it all. Love you guys!

I just love this video you and what you do. I too enjoy shooting photography and have been following your site for a year now. I enjoy getting looking at what new photos your have shot and would love to know what gear you use more with Canon than Nikon since I use Canon as well. Thanks for sharing what you are shooting!

Great video! You are so relaxed! Nice tie too JP! Mr. Valentine you did a great job!

  6. Girish (11.9.10)

That’s a fabulous video. It’s a great in-depth of faq about you. Great way to show behind-the-scenes of a wedding.

It’s so good to see how to make the bride – groom relax. Mix with them..and end up getting great shots.

    Very inspiring.

  7. Marie (11.9.10)

Great Video guys!!! This makes me even more excited for my wedding!!!! 6 months!

  8. Mona (11.9.10)

I’m Mona, and I love seeing you guys photograph people in love :)

This was awesome. I love the fist-pump-jump “YESSS” move. Beautiful bride and groom, what great energy to have as a promo shot. :)

    YAY!

  9. Sharon Wheaton (11.9.10)

    this was awesome!!!!

  10. cindy (11.9.10)

Tiffany and Jonathan how beautiful, and you are right about being lucky to have Jp and his dad. My daughter was married 09/11/10 and she was spot on by choosing the Elairo’s as her photographers Every single person who saw their amazing work were blown away when they saw the magical results. Jp’s best source of advertisement is his work. Congratulations and amazing stuff Jp.

  11. Al Woodard (11.9.10)

YO! JP and Jason, this video completely rocks! I love to “story” behind the photographer. Even though i know you very well, after watching this 3 minute piece, I still feel like I learned a bit more about you as a person and photographer. Anyone who sees this knows that you are one very committed and enthusiastic individual. Great job on the production. Well Done gentlemen!

  12. Alayne (11.9.10)

OMG the whole entire thing was awesome! So fun, so cute, so real, so fabulous!!

  13. Jen (11.9.10)

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Truly! So sincere and so heartfelt. What a great video and a gorgeous couple!

  14. elisabeth (11.9.10)

Personally, I think so much of why your business and photos are a success is the attitude and genuine enthusiasm that you bring to every job you’re hired for. Whether it’s an e-shoot, wedding or family session, the energy and love that you have for your photographs transcends to the image you capture.

And how cool is it that your Dad introduced you to and fostered your interest in photography! Kudos to Big Joe, as well!

  15. natalie (11.9.10)

aw, jp, you’re awesome, ’nuff said ;)

  16. Elaine (11.9.10)

Great video!! It really shows how much passion and enthusiasm you have for what you do! :)

  17. Jonathan and Tiffany (11.9.10)

WOW! What can we say? First I’ll need to stop crying so I can type… thank you for choosing our wedding to create this promotional piece- for trusting that we would all get along and we wouldnt be camera shy (haha). But thats really the gift of JP Elario- we felt so comfortable and at ease… like we had known you for years and our close friend was going to be capturing those sweet, intimate moments others don’t even recognize. Add to that amazing eye for details your ability to be every where at once and you’ve really got a wedding covered from every angle. Everytime we wanted to capture a moment and said to ourselves, where’s JP- he needs to be getting this, we would turn around and you were already there shooting away. At the end of it all… all of the planning, joy, anticipation… we only have our memories and our pictures of that day to hold with us… we’re so delighted we chose you to preserve some of the finest moments of the journey we began that day. From the bottom of our hearts- thank you….. One last quick shout out to your pops— I have a crush on him! (this is Tiffany not Jonathan- although I think he really liked Joe also lol) and where’s this “button” I keep reading about?

  18. Isabel (11.9.10)

Jp- You rock! your work is unreal….keep it up!

  19. kate (11.9.10)

I looooooooove this video!! You are the best. I can’t wait until you photograph my wedding! Where is my button?

  20. Jennifer (11.9.10)

I am inspired by your work I have to say ….. I hope that one day I am as good as you! Great Job!!!!

  21. Dana Sheehan (11.9.10)

Great video, JP! I love how excited you get! It really puts the couple at ease that they’re getting great shots.
