Posted in: News, Random

September 21 2009

Well hello there… I hope you all enjoyed your weekend since it was so beautiful. Anyway… Krista Washburn from Well WedVermont Vows Magazine gave me the go-ahead on sharing just one image from the latest rockin’ shoot I was part of recently. This is easily my favorite shot of the 4 different gowns/setups I shot. So awesome! Anyway I can’t tell you where we all shot but I can tell you to keep your eyes peeled for this upcoming spring/summer issue surely it wont disappoint.

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

How could you not “love” this image?

A great crew of some awesome peeps. The models Nina & Zack were troopers in the chilly evening. From the left: Bryan Yager & Christy Beltrami from Burlington who have a rockin’ seniors and wedding studio, my photo assistant April K, Jana (Krista’s assistant), me, the one and only Krista Washburn, Cynthea & Sarah from Cynthea’s Day Spa in Burlington.

How could I not?

the photo booth

Posted in: News, Random, Weddings

September 1 2009

Ah the photo booth… This is becoming the one of our most popular options lately. So this past weekend Tracy & Matt decided they wanted a photo booth. The pictures we came home with were crazy to say the least. I think we ended up somewhere around 400 and some odd images. It’s just fun because people seriously get nutty as the night goes on. The later it gets the better the photos seem to get and I think this little four minute and fifty second video is a good representation of the evenings images. Keep in mind I’m only showing about 30% of all the images from Tracy & Matt’s photo booth and picking and choosing was tough. So sit back and enjoy this little video. If any of you Elario brides are interested in a photo booth holler at your boy ;)

Enjoy, leave love. Let me know what you think.

products: books, magnets

Posted in: News

August 31 2009

So what happens to all those images I take on engagement sessions you ask? Well aside from the subjects posting them on their facebook pages and wedding websites some couples decide to do something more. The guest book thing is lame right? Also the sign the matted photo is totally 1990. The new fad is the engagement signing book. Basically its a guest book that has the awesome images we got at your engagement session. They’re a big hit with the guests at the wedding. So a few books just came in this past Friday, and our bride & groom had one at their wedding on Saturday. So I thought what better timing than now to share with you all?

If anyones interested this isn’t an overnight product so give some notice and we’ll get you hooked up.
JP

Sarah & Ben, Carolyn & Dominck and Kristen & Dan.

Here is a basic spread. The spine of the books have the date of the actual wedding.

Kristen wanted to do a multiple image book. So here’s a spread from her book.

Here’s one in action… this past weekend from Tracy & Matt’s wedding (blog coming this week).

And something cool just came in this morning. Kara & Mike’s save the date magnets. I took their website url off the image on the right. I’m sure Kara & Mike don’t want all my blog stalkers on their site ;). You know I love my blog stalkers.

  4. JP Elario (08.31.09)

isn’t everyone curious why mona the #1 blog stalker hasn’t done an engagement session? or at least what does she look like?

  5. Mona (08.31.09)

Dude you’re killing me!!! This is such a good idea – but Andrew and I need to of course do e-shots first (ohhhhh the last few months and the financial fun!) and then the photobooth, and oh! Seriously.

What are ya tryin’ to do to me over here???

Awesome. Love it. Want one. Argh!

  6. Abbey Saloiye (08.31.09)

Really great post. Good ideas for engagement shots. The magnets look fantastic.

well wed: fall winter 2009

Posted in: News

July 24 2009

Its that time of the season when I get a fat box of some wedding goodness delivered to us. That box always contains the new issue of Well Wed magazine. Its always exciting because I’m usually a part of the magazine every issue. Since issue one we’ve had our work displayed and featured throughout the pages. I believe this is the  fifth or sixth issue and I’ve shot four gown shoots and we’ve had two feature weddings under our belts, needless to say we’re very honored to be part of the Well Wed family. Not to toot my own horn too much but since we’re talking numbers this is my third cover! All I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you to Krista Washburn and the Well Wed fam for making us look cool issue after issue.

Now brides! Go out and get yourself the fall winter 2009 Well Wed. Its got endless pages of information. From color schemes to wedding etiquette this should be a brides the secret weapon when it comes to planning her wedding. I’ll also ad its filled with the areas best vendors from photogs, florists, entertainment and anything else you can think of. We’re all in good company.

A note about the shoot…. I don’t know where the hell in Vermont I was but we shot at an old train station and it rocked. Krista always has a vision and its so fun working with her ideas while putting my photographic twist on it. I shot along side my buddy Vermont Wedding Photographer Barrie Fisher and we crushed it. Barrie shot (with her camera) the brown haired model and I shot the blonde. I feel like a idiot for not remembering their names so if anyone wants to give them to me I’d be glad to throw some props their way. This was shot back in April just to put a scope on how much time goes into this publication.

Enjoy, leave love.
JP

ps. Make sure you read Krista’s awesome “comment of the year” below in the comment box. Krista, the feelings are mutual.

So if you come into my office you’ll always find one of these on display. Please take one.

I pulled the hat trick here:

Some of my favorite spreads from the gown shoot.

Now here are some of my images I’ve been dying to share with you all since April. Two of my fav’s in the old cart.

This one is probably my #1 favorite shot from the whole day.

Another fav, part of the cover image series.

The tones, warmth and lighting on this are rockin.

A few behind the scenes shots. Barrie and I do a lot of waiting while the models change.

A few of me doing my thang!

Thats a wrap! Another one in the books or should I say on the magazine stands?

  9. Laura Mullins Klein (07.24.09)

Even though we were married 2+ years ago and my wedding planning days are long gone I still pick up a copy every season to check out the latest and greatest Elario work! I didn’t know I could get a free copy if I stop in for a visit ;-) Looks like this issue won’t disappoint! Beautiful shots JP!

  10. Jess (07.24.09)

Krista couldn’t have put it any better. You are amazing- plain and simple!! These shots are fantastic…like, stop dead in your tracks fantastic. Talk about starting the weekend off on a high note!!

  11. rachel Red (07.24.09)

    JP-
Wow! These photos are amazing…too many favorites to even pick just one! AND please let Kris Ann know that her design is BEAUTIFUL and “awe” inspiring as well. Congrats on a job exceptionally well done!

  12. JP Elario (07.24.09)

wow kritsa! what an awesome comment. thanks for all the kind words. the feelings are mutual.

  13. Brian Stevens (07.24.09)

Amazing images! I especially appreciate the behind the scenes shots. Thanks!

  14. Krista Washburn (07.24.09)

JP: Awe – thank you for the kind words! I have to say, as i always do that this truly is my FAVORITE issue of wellwed in NY! What JP failed to mention is that his VERY talented fiancee (Kris Ann, owner of Fleurtacious Designs) has an AMAZING tabletop spread in the Wedding Color Palette section of this issue. So – back to the “thanks”…..a ton of hard work goes into creating every issue (blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of laughter)…..BUT i would not be able to produce what i do with out having such an amazing pool of local talent to bring the pages to life and make the magazine shine. YOU my friend are one of those very important people!!!!! As a photographer your talent far exceeds just capturing a “pretty picture” – you have an innate ability to capture such amazing moments & emotion…..the kind that leave you with goose bumps…..not to mention you are one of the most kind hearted & REAL people that i know in the industry. So JP – the “thanks” really is to you – much love! KJW

  15. joe Elario (07.24.09)

I really need to attend more of these ! , Great work by all.
