jamie & brian’s mills mansion engagement session!

Posted in: Engagements

October 11 2011

I’m pretty pumped to share this one because of it’s unique location and oh yeah, the awesome people I photographed there! When Jamie emailed and told me about her “mansion themed” engagement session I was all “hell to the yes, that sounds awesome!!”. I just love new unique locations. It’s fun for me!

This old house ;) is located in Staatsburgh NY. I know, I was like “where am I driving?”. I was given a little history on this location from my friend and 2010 Elario bride Elisabeth.(happy almost anniversary!). So here goes.. The Mills Mansion was the home of noted financier and philanthropist Ogden Mills and Ruth Livingston Mills. In 1832 Ogden’s in laws acquired the site and built a 25 room mansion. 63 years later Mr & Mrs Mills remodeled the home into a Beaux-Arts mansion with 65 rooms and 14 bathrooms. Pretty impressive huh?

I loved shooting here. More importantly, I loved photographing Jamie and Brian. Back in early 2011 when they hired us for their October 13th 2012 wedding we immediately clicked. They’re an easy duo to love. I’m so happy I took the 1.5 hour drive south to capture these images for you guys! This was a great night! Can we hurry up and fast forward to 367 days from now when you get hitched?

Peace,
JP

Meet Jamie and Brian…

Nice bling..

A nice night for a little picnic..

loving the color..

this blanket was FREAKING AWESOME!

Jamie, you’re beautiful. Hair and makeup by Make Me Fabulous.

I love the first signs of fall.. oh and the light.

she has an energy you can’t help but love. Brian just smiles at her..

Oh hey there you too good looking kids in love…

I was happy to see this color dress, its just awesome and so fun.

Loving all the colors!

I’m sorry but hotness is served:

this place is ridiculous.

seriously, could their be a better night to shoot?

look at ya nailing the old configuration..

the shadow was there so I used it..

this is a favorite which is why is was my facebook teaser.

one more in the i can’t believe its not “butter light” ;)

ok so we weren’t suppose to stand on the actual steps.. ;) Jamie and Brian live on the wild side haha!

winding down now..

I know Jamie will love this one..

and you know we’ll finish with my token “bling shot”

haha. I think Jamie was the only one who got the “make a crazy face memo”

    your work is amazing….

  2. Mallory (10.12.11)

Absolutely beautiful. The photo where the two of you are holding hands in front of the tree as the sun goes down…totally reminds me of pride & prejudice. I almost cried. I’m not kidding. Love it!!!

  3. *Emilia* (10.12.11)

looooovvvvveeee the shadow photo. Its is awesome!!

  4. Mona (10.12.11)

Oooh another great new location!!! I love this. FIrst of all – JAMIE – I LOVE THAT DRESS. Where did you get it? Not that I would fit into something like that at 6 months pregnant but hey, afterwards!!! It is stunning!

I like the props, the picnic made me hungry. Mmmm. :)

You guys look just great together. Ok back to the picnic. So classic and classy in this location.

The. Shadow. Shot. Awesomeness. Yummy light. Love the earlier outfits too, and I agree Jamie you are quite glowing and beautiful! Of course, made fabulous as well.

Can’t wait for more. Congratulations!!! JP – loving the mug shot cameos :)

OOOh. ANd NICE BLING. :) Yayyy!

  5. Jamie (10.11.11)

WHERE DO I START!??!?! Ok, first, thank you everyone for all the beautiful and kind words!!! It’s so wonderful to hear that others are enjoying our pictures too! To Joe Elario, THANK YOU for doing what you do and having an incredibly talented son! We feel so fortunate to work with both of you and couldn’t imagine having it any other way for our wedding day. Jp, these pictures are out-of-this-world amazing. Breathtaking!! I’m still drooling. I absolutely love all of the pictures!!! I’d love to talk about my favorites, but it’s impossible to just pick a couple since so many are jaw-droppingly amazing! You NAILED the tattoo shot…the picture is the EXACT one I had in mind and you’re right..I LOVE IT!! Perfect!! And we definitely surpassed butter light and took it to the highest level of “i can’t believe it’s not butter light”! Finally, ummm i’m pretty sure you were making some silly faces in the last picture too…what gives?!?! Ha! Jk ;) The silliness is the epitome of my life! All in all we couldn’t be happier (as Brian so eloquently stated below) and can’t wait to do it all again for our big day!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  6. Brian DeMichele (10.11.11)

    JP,

Thank you so much for you and your team to take the time to post this blog. This all looks so fantastic, and Jamie and I are just blown away by your talent.

Also, thanks for so many complements and warm words below!

We look forward to seeing the rest of these pics, and of course working with you again when the wedding date arrives next October 13, 2012.

    Brian DeMichele

  7. Elisabeth (10.11.11)

Staatsburgh State Historic Site never looked so good! Amazing photos and a beautiful couple!

  8. joe Elario (10.11.11)

    . . it’s all about that “shadow shot” , dam that’s nice.
And . .Thank You Jamie & Brian for going with “Eario Photography, Inc.”.

  9. Natalia (10.11.11)

AMAZING! Love that coral dress, perfect choice!

  10. Lily (10.11.11)

Are they getting married there too? Have you ever been there at Christmas time? Totally worth the drive– so beautiful what they do to the mansions down there for Christmas!! We used to go down to see the decorations every year!

  11. Melissa F (10.11.11)

These are so beautiful! The shadow photo is absolutely incredible. Hope they hang that one up!!

  14. Girish (10.11.11)

Absolutely fantastic. Love it every bit. Great pictures. Man you lucky to stay in a place where you get such a brilliant light. Too good.

    Great pictures, totally rocking.

By the way she is very pretty, looks so casual in her earlier part and then as you mentioned hotness is served :)

  15. NICOLE (10.11.11)

WOW Might be one of my favorite engagements blogs this year! This location was awesome! Her dress rocked and of course the pictures are stunning, but I already expected that!

  16. Jamie (10.11.11)

Fantastico!!! The forehead kiss/shadow shot is wonderful! Love Jamie’s second outfit!! The picnic setup was sweet :) another great blog!!!!

  17. Elaine (10.11.11)

Plenty of things to love about this blog… unique location, fun and photogenic couple, great light, awesome colors, just to name a few! Even though you always have a way of making a location special for each couple, its the best when there’s a new location!! Those are always my favorite blogs. It’s hard to choose a favorite — I love the ones with the “picnic”, but how could you not love the ones with the light and the fall colors?? The color and movement of Jamie’s dress is amazing in those! Oh and I love the forehead kiss/shadow image!! Great engagement shoot Jp!! :)

courtney & john, a chatham engagement session

Posted in: Engagements

October 10 2011

Last Monday I caught up with a 2012 couple of ours Courtney and John. These two have an April 21, 2012 wedding coming up. Its might not seem it but April is right around the corner!! Anyway, Courtney asked if we could shoot in her hometown which is Chatham NY. You know I’m ALWAYS down to shoot in a different location! It’s a quaint little town and it has an older vibe to it. I really enjoyed shooting there. The second leg of the session was on the grounds of the Omi International Arts Center which is right around the corner in Ghent. It’s a pretty cool outdoor museum. It would be fun to take your dog for a walk and check out all the interesting art. It was a fun location to shoot at! I’m stoked to get to April 21st already so we can do this again! Courtney and John, thank you both! I had a fun time capturing the love! See ya soon!

Peace,
JP

Meet Courtney and John..

When I was in photo school, train tracks in b&w was the most popular image a college student could take.  Here’s my twist on it..

love this spot..

Isn’t Chatham pretty?

I love everything about this image.. my facebook teaser.

They even have the old theatre!

a little configuration..

Oh you fancy huh?

So cool!

Location #2 Art Omi (pronounced oh my).. peace symbol or bunny ears?

I love this one.

I loved this spot..

The light was nice..

Another cool one..

John thought is would be fun to be one with the art ;)

love this shot and the color..

Vic-Vic-Vic Victoria!

and my token “bling shot”

Last Monday the Yankee’s were in the playoffs.. this Monday, not so much :( Thanks guys!!!!!!!

melissa & matt’s engagement session!

Posted in: Engagements

September 29 2011

I’ve been looking forward to shooting this engagement session for some time now. Shoot, we only have been trying to get our e shoot on since June! Anyway Melissa and Matt are one of those couples that I just clicked with from the start. I clicked with an enthusiastic, excited and  just engaged Melissa back in March when she started emailing me about her July 14th 2012 wedding. As they say the early bird always gets the worm! We went back and forth on where to shoot this thing and ultimately ended up setting it of at Shaker Junior High where these two first met. Matt also proposed to Melissa there as well! I like this type of stuff. After we photographed at the school they changed clothes and got their “grown up” on around the corner at Schuyler Meadows Club. Anyway it was a blast and July 14th 2012 can’t come quick enough!

Peace,
JP

Where it all began.

Meet Melissa and Matt who met in technology class..

In Houston Hall

I was loving the lockers thing..

I told him to “Zack Morris” her.. I was so addicted to Saved by the Bell. Go Bayside!

one more in front of the lockers.. I like this one.

telling secrets in class..

Meanwhile outside we got into an Elario Configuration..

Melissa had these shirts made.. I love the light btw..

Oh watch out now… You’re the bomb Melissa.

Now we’re all grown up in our grown up clothes..

I like this one…

aaahhh a little light.

This place is really wonderful to shoot at.

Fun little series..

another favorite right here.

if there’s a field I’ll find it..

wow..

My facebook teaser that blew the hell up! 55 likes and 36 comments! Wow thank you ALL for the love! Does this mean I should print this big for the wall?

I always love the first signs of fall..

and of course an Elario engagement session is never complete without my token “bling shot”

haha and a goofy face one.. Matt, you win on that.. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!

jenny & phil’s engagement photos!

Posted in: Engagements

September 19 2011

When wedding coordinator Katie O’ brought Jenny and Phil in to meet as potential clients we immediately clicked. It was one of those meetings where I don’t even think we talked about weddings all that much but rather just generally shot the breeze. I don’t think they made it out of the parking lot when Katie O’ called and said lock down October 1st 2011. I was like hell yeah! Since then we’ve been trying to connect to get their engagement photos done and finally did! As I expected it was a fun evening! All my sessions are fun though, I just love doing what I do! It’s crazy to believe in just a short time from now we’ll be shooting their wedding! So be sure to check back because I heard it’s going to be off the chain!

Peace,
JP

Meet Jenny and Phil..

A little forehead kiss to set off a blog post never hurt nobody.

She just jumped up on Phil! I love it.

If there is light like this trust I’ll find it.

I really like this one.

I have a feeling this is where we’ll be shooting their first look. Hopefully minus the mosquitoes!

I like! Nah, I love! I’d say this is perfectly “Phenny” (coined by Katie O’) thats why this was my facebook teaser!

I’m all about little fields..

A little configuration..

Wardrobe change..

I like this one.

So much happiness between these two.

Word. the good light makes a cameo.

Yo go Jenny, she’s going to be a rocking bride. Makeup by Flawless by Tina.

Love it.

Who doesn’t like an “almost kiss”

and we’ll finish with my token “bling shot”

oh and one more! See you guys crazy soon!!
