kate & jim: lake george club

Posted in: Weddings

October 15 2009

Wedding number two from this past Columbus Day weekend was great. Such a nice day to be on Lake George. When we arrived at the club it was one of those classic fall days. There was a little chill in the air along with some typical Lake George wind. I was stoked to see these funky shoes Kate & her Mom were telling me about. Jim loves fishing so these shoe’s were a cool surprise for him. The Lake George Club has one of the nicest views of Lake George in my opinion. That dock out back is just a wonderful spot for a ceremony. All and all another fun wedding. We thank and congratulate Kate & Jim.

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

How wild are these ones?

This place is so rustic.

Pretty nice day eh?

You got to love a lake side ceremony!

I like all this muted color..

Talk about classic fall color!

The orange is just sweet!

The blues are pretty sweet too.

And we finished the night with some awesome fireworks.

alex & bob: hall of springs

Posted in: Weddings

October 13 2009

Friday October 9th might have been a rainy and dreary day but no spirits were dampened at this Hall of Springs wedding. Alex was smiling from the second we arrived at the hall. She was such a relaxed bride. It was also great to see Alayne of Make Me Fabulous on the scene too. Its so calming when you know the hair & makeup people and you know they’re always done on time and time is really important on wedding day. Speaking of quality vendors the flowers for this wedding were by Renaissance Floral Design, David always does a great job. Now it was time for Alex to get dressed into that beautiful gown and then we went out to the chilly but dry portico for some portraits. I always say if it rains on your wedding day and your scheduled at the hall its no big deal because of those portico’s out there. Everything about the Hall of Springs rocks, it really is a nice venue. So shortly after our portraits with the ladies Bob showed up for the first look which was really nice. I switched it up a little for this one and had him come to her. You’ll see from the series below that it was sweet. We managed to bring in some bits of orange color before the light dropped off and the ceremony begun. Also I’m sure you all remember this couple from their engagement shoot from last October. Just a great couple all around and we’re glad to have been part of your big day. Thanks guys & congrats to you!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

How you like that dress shot? I do!

Oh hey Alayne! How you been?

So pretty and fun to photograph..

Love this first look series… look at Bob, loving what he’s seeing.

Looking her up and down…

I just love this shot.

Some of that fall color…

We were able to sneak out for a minute in between the rain drops.

Easily my fav of the day..

Looks like Bob saw that famous JFK Junior photo…

Some details of the hall..

layla & jade: washington park

Posted in: Kids / Family

October 8 2009

Anyone who’s been following our blog for the past year would easily remember a post from last October titled: Layla, Julie & Tommy: Washington Park. That was one of my favorite kid/family sessions of all time. So in our business the ultimate compliment is being asked to shoot something again for the same client. This time Layla, Julie & Tommy had a new addition to the family they wanted photographed. This is where the Jade comes in. Just under 4 months old Jade was a good sport and did a fantastic job posing for me. We went back to the same location just shy of two days to the exact date we shot it last year. It was like a carbon copy afternoon, a little warmer but an awesome day all around. As you can see from the feature image above they decided to bring along their 4 year old French Bulldog Stella. Frenchies rock, Kris Ann & I love them but more on that later. So I’m just as excited to share these images as I was last year! I hope to make this an annual thing with the Carrk family. Thanks for having me back! Congrats on Jade, she’s adorable!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

Love this one…. its so hard to take the color out of fall photos but it works here.

Julie with the girls.

They both have the most amazing eyes right?

This reminds me of an image from last years shoot.

Pretty sweet backdrop right? Such a good looking family.

Don’t worry Stella, we didn’t forget ya.

I’ll leave you with the two girls..

carley & toby: franklin plaza

Posted in: Weddings

October 7 2009

How we managed to avoid the scheduled raindrops this past weekend still baffles me. I was checking the weather while sipping my morning coffee on Saturday October 2nd 2009 and according to the forecast it was suppose to be raining during Carley & Toby’s first look. When we arrived at Franklin Plaza I checked the weather yet again on my iPhone and in real time saw the doppler and we were in the clear. Can your blackberry do that? So we went ahead with our originally scheduled program. The ladies got ready at the plaza and we stepped out front for some quick photos. Then it was off to meet the guys in a spot nearby. Shortly after Carley & Toby had their first look and I just love the series from those photos. I’m officially calling this our first “fall wedding” based on the colors and the feel of the day. We got a bunch of good photos it was back to the plaza so these two could tie the knot. What an awesome day. I’m so glad the rain held off for these guys. What a pleasure it was spending the day with you both. I hope  your both enjoying St Kitts and congrats!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

The perfect number of bridesmaids is 4.

How beautiful does Carley look here? Here eyes are awesome.

Time for the first look!

Guess who?

I love the soft color tones in this one.

BOOM! How bout that for some fall color? My fav on the day.

This one rocks too.

Yeah I love this too.

One more…

Then they got married…

Then I stole their rings haha. I gave them back!

The room fall style.

I’ll leave you with a snippet from their first dance.
