a fall family shoot with jackson, mom & dad

Posted in: Kids / Family

October 29 2009

Better late than never right? So I’ve been meaning blog these images for a few weeks now. This shoot features the handsome little devil Jackson, Megan & Matt. We shot this at an apple orchard which is just a great spot for photographing children. Just don’t step or sit in rotten pumpkin because it stinks! I just love these images. The color is classic October. The weather was a bit chilly but my man Jackson was a true champ and one of the most well behaved children I’ve ever photographed. All and all another great family session.

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

I’ll set  it off with my favorite shot of the three of them from the whole shoot. I just love this in b&w.

Some solo’s with Mom & Dad.

Great looking family…

Love these two.

Ok so the green paint and barn gave away the location right?

Sorry folks, Jackson does not come with the apples… my fav shot of him. That hat is awesome.

I’ll end with this just because.

alexa & sarah: senior shoot at emma willard

Posted in: Kids / Family

October 28 2009

Its all about cranking out the blogs this week and thats what I plan to do. So for this post I am going to share some awesome senior shots of Alexa & Sarah. These seniors are attending Emma Willard School in Troy as well as living on campus. For those of you who are not familiar with Emma Willard its probably one of the most beautiful places in the whole capital region. We’ve shot tons of weddings in their chapel and I am extremely familiar with the campus so this shoot for me was a blast. Oh it also helps when your subjects are two beautiful young ladies that are totally fun and not the least bit camera shy. On with the post…

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

Throw a rock and wherever it lands just shoot. Thats my motto for Emma Willard.

Something so simple as a doorway makes a sweet backdrop.

A couple solo shots. FYI Alexa is on the left and Sarah is on the right.

So how cool is this color? My favorite series of the whole shoot.

Does any of my blog stalkers thing Alexa resembles Mona? Maybe its the hair? I love these pics btw.

Look at Sarah workin’ it.

Not only are the BFF’s but they’re roommates too. They both hope to be roommates next year when they move off to college life.

The color just kept getting better..

The girls informed me that the lawn their on is known as “the senior triangle”…

Only seniors are allowed to walk on it, no teachers either. I love this shot btw.

However if you get permission granted by a senior then you can walk onto the lawn. My permission was granted ;)

I wish I had pictures of myself like this when I was in high school!

So cute…

These two are total goofs!

The photos on the left in the next two images are my fav portraits of them.

So cool.

Just when I thought the shoot was over the girls informed me of how cool my token “bling shot” was and wanted to take one! Since I was granted permission to walk the senior lawn it was the least I could do. So here is the first official “senior ring token bling shot”.

Oh my GOD! ALEXA :) I was looking at these saying in my head… she looks familiar… Alexa… emma willard… WAIT!!!

Alexa grew up right next door to me! Our backyards were right next to each other and we spent some fun times in our pool together.

Alexa honey, ANY comparison to looking like you is a HUGE compliment to me!!! You are gorgeous, it has been so long since I’ve seen you. WOnderful. What I especially love that you and your BFF did this together – this is totally something my best friend Sara and I would do then (or heck, now). So sweet. You both look beautiful, and you can definitely tell how close you two are.

I’m beyond happy to see these pictures, so wonderful to see your beautiful face after so long!!!!!

tracey & mark: fall style engagement session

Posted in: Engagements

October 27 2009

Well I just love this set of images I’m about to share with you all. How great is it to shoot at an apple orchard? I like to think this is something I coined around here. The first time I shot at an orchard was in 2007 and again last year. I think shooting just one engagement session at an orchard a year is perfect. Who will it be next year? So Tracey & Mark were the lucky couple this year and I just love these images. The evening we had to shoot was perfect but there was one exception, the killer ladybugs! Seriously those ladybugs were just nutty. But all around another favorite engagement session I put this session in my top 5 of 2009. I can’t wait to photograph your wedding next May!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

We set it off in front of the what might be my favorite backdrop from the whole shoot…

Mark’s argyle pattern against the apple crates just screams!

Fun!

After making Tracey walk a quarter mile in her heels we found this spot. I think this is my fav all day.

Then I made them sit on some apples.

The color was just awesome!

Great little series.

2009 is the year of the field shots over here at the JEP blog.

Quick change of clothes and we resume the session.

Rusty barn… check. Fall color… check. Good light… check.

I like Mark in this photo totally being himself.

The style, the ring…

And last but not least the bling. My token “bling shot” that is.

  16. Mona (10.27.09)

SOOOOOO CUTE! I love having grown up in upstate NY. These photos with leaves and the gorgeous color make me nostalgic. I know it won’t quite be like that by the time we get married, but I love love love love love the fall! These pictures are great. Their outfits make the perfect statement against all the backdrops, and they really look so happy and wonderful. And the colors, ohhhhhh, it’s just not the same seeing the leaves change in NYC compared to up there. Beautifully done as usual, congrats to Tracey and Marc!

shawna & mike: glen sanders mansion

Posted in: Weddings

October 26 2009

Finishing up the three wedding weekend on October 18 2010 is Shawna & Mike’s wedding. This chilly fall day was a nice wedding to wrap up one of the busiest weekends of 2009. Their interfaith ceremony was originally scheduled for outside but do to the chilly day was moved into the newly renovated lobby of the Glen Sanders Mansion. I enjoyed shooting this ceremony indoors. The light was nice and it really makes for a nice spot to tie the knot. Some noteworthy vendors on this wedding include the talents of my fiances flower shop Fleurtacious Designs. The hair & makeup of Make Me Fabulous and the Music of Music Man Mike Garrasi. Shawna & Mike we thank you for having us be part of your special day! Congrats to you both!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

The guys chilling down in the pub at the mansion.

Although it was chilly it was a must to head outdoors for some photos…

The first look series…

The awesome fall color. Just love this shot.

Great shot of the ceremony.

Back outside for a few more..
