mona & andrew: engagement session

Posted in: Engagements

September 25 2009

So it’s about time our#1 fan signed up to do an engagement session right? Well to all of you who might be new to this blog or just don’t know who Mona is, you can find out more here in this post. But wait, what about Andrew?  Oh yeah the fiance. It’s his turn to shine in a blog post too. I can’t say enough good things about these two. Although I might know Mona better, by the end of the shoot I felt like Andrew was one of my boys. They’re just a great couple thats totally in love, I could tell how into each other they were while I was shooting. Even though it took some time to get everyone together for this shoot and I’m glad we did because the images that I came home with were awesome. I’m really digging that dirty gritty spot but I’ll never tell you where it is ;) Seriously is it November 6, 2009 yet? Because we’re stoked to shoot this event. Be sure to check back for that blog post. Oh and be sure to tell us what you think of this session by commenting below after all Mona comments on all yours!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

We set it off simple with some nice light.

All the patterns and lines are fun.

b&w style

Mona just climbed up into this window… let’s see if she’s that courageous on wedding day. How bout them boots?

Love these two.

I really like these steps.

So they switched up their outfits and I found an awesome spot. Easily my favorite image.

Isn’t that light just awesome?

All the dust and dirt being backlit is so cool.

I’m all about shapes and patterns…

A fun little series.

So this little b&w here was just kinda of a “not ready yet” shot but I really like it.

The last seconds of that gold stuff…

And then the light gets blue…. How fun are they? Don’t you love Mona’s curls?

Mona had to bust a move before the bling shot… Hope she doesn’t get mad at me for posting this.

I like how in my token “bling shot” Andrew’s just about to kiss her.

lindsey & ryan: hall of springs

Posted in: Weddings

September 24 2009

Two weddings in one weekend are always fun! Our second wedding from this past weekend features Lindsey & Ryan. After googling “cool wedding receptions” says Lindsey she landed on The Hall of Springs on our site. They loved the venue and our work so immediately they had a reception & a photographer! Both Lindsey & Ryan live in NYC and planned their whole wedding miles away from Saratoga. There wasn’t a guest in the building that was from our area. Whenever that is the case its party time for sure. Anyway back to the beginning of the day…

We arrived at The Batcheller Mansion Inn early on Sunday morning while Lindsey & her girls were getting their hair and makeup done. After capturing some details and getting ready shots it was off to their church. My all time favorite church to shoot at in Saratoga is The Bethesda Episcopal Church. I’ll add Lindsey & Ryan chose this church because they saw it on our blog as well. It really is a beautiful building to tie the knot in. After an emotional walk down the aisle, some vows and some rings it was a bubble exit and off to Congress Park for photos. Lindsey’s Mom rented out the Carousel for a couple minutes so we shot there, but thats not it. It was back to the Batcheller Mansion for a couple more images and the stuff on the balcony is just awesome. So after a few more images in that good good light on the grounds of the hall it was party time. As always, its another great one in the books. Lindsey & Ryan we thank you for having us capture your day. Congrats to you both!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

By the looks of that tree I think its safe to say falls coming early this year.

This room is great to shoot in.

You have to love the next three…

What an awesome shot!

That walk down the aisle as newlyweds has to feel great.

Both these shots were just quick snaps. No setup here, just realness.

Haha! This is how we shoot carousel’s!

Back to the Batchellers. The light!

That image on the right is one of my all time favs.

Lindsey & Ryan both work for Red Bull… you know “it gives you wings”. How could I not shoot the rings like this?

So now we’re at the Hall of Springs for some of that good good light.. but first some sweet b&w’s.

Lindsey loves the camera.

I often like to have my couples sit on the ground and relax so I was shooting them sitting and Lindsey was like “Can we lay down on our backs?” at first I thought she was joking but I was like “YEAH!”. Maybe they drank too much Red Bull and they crashed? Either way, awesome shot.

Love it!

Might be one of my favs of the whole day.

Oh if you were wondering what I mean when I write about that “good good light” just take a look at the image below.

An awesome detail from their first dance.

And I’ll leave you with how the room looked thru out the night… fun colors!

Exceptional pictures of an exceptionally attractive couple. Along with the setting and the spirt of your wedding, anyone can see it was an exceptional day. Congratulations to you both. Warm regards, Peter

Gorgeous shots, gorgeous couple! Another Elario classic! Well done!!

  6. Al Woodard (09.25.09)

You are Killing me fellas. All of the “sun play” shots are just nutty! The ring shot and quick candid of the bride also ruled the day. I could go on , but you get the point. I’m shooting at Bethesda today and will be looking for that vows shot from the front right. Thank for the heads up. Later, Al.

  7. Mona (09.24.09)

    A

    ZING!

What a beautiful day. What beautiful places, everywhere you guys shot was like gold. The rings, beautiful, the couple, beautiful.

I love when a couple’s connection shows thru the images, even without knowing them.

And I love how you say that walk down the aisle as newlyweds has got to be great – JP, that’s you in just over 5 months :)

  8. Nicole (09.24.09)

Unbelievable shots!!! The light is the best-

  9. Diane Lippa (09.24.09)

Joe and Joe..you are truly artists with your eye and your tools and of course ( what you do with the Mac!) What a lovely album to treasure forever!

  10. Stephen (09.24.09)

I love that “good good light” shot… awesome details in that… so sharp. Great job Elarios at capturing this handsome couple on their day. Congrats to the couple.

  11. Cathy Gatta (09.24.09)

omgosh I usually like to pick out my favs from your shoots, but this one was IMPOSSIBLE – every shot is so so so good, just LOVE them! And even without all of the great shots of the Hall that you know I like to see ;)

  12. christine (09.24.09)

i love these images. her shoes are almost as fabulous as the pictures.

lisa & darren: saratoga national

Posted in: Weddings

September 22 2009

It seems like it was just May and we were gearing up to shoot our first wedding at Saratoga National Golf Club this season. Now 8 weddings later we close out our run at Saratoga National for the 2009 season. It was a perfect September Saturday. Seriously this is why September continues to be our busiest month season after season. When the days are as nice as this why not choose September? So our awesome bride and groom for the most requested Saturday of 2009 would be Lisa & Darren. We’ve known Lisa and her family forever. I went to grade school with Lisa and her brother Chris. Speaking of grade school thats where the wedding took place at St James in Albany. Its one of my favorite churches to shoot in because of the great lighting and its easy to tip toe around in. After that we traveled up to Saratoga for some fun photos. Its safe to say we got some really awesome stuff. Its amazing the way the grounds change from May to September. The party was awesome, it was a great night. We want to thank Lisa, Darren and their families for having us capture their day. Congrats guys!

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

The beautiful bride!

Who did those bouquets? The one and only Kris Ann of Fleurtacious Designs ;)

A different view of that “just before” bride & dad shot I’ve been showing you all forever.

A fun group!

Back onto the course.

Love this, my fav easily.

Not a cloud in the sky.

How could that not make you happy?

How cute is Lisa?

Boom! How bout that goodness?

Ok so this is my fav also.

Some more awesomeness by Fleurtacious Designs

Room looked great!

It always looks good when the person giving the toast asks everyone to raise their glasses.

Last minutes of the warm good stuff.

FABULOUS PHOTOS!!!!!! But Lisa really needs to smile more (ha ha) What a wonderful day!!!!

  4. Frank Agostino (09.24.09)

A long time ago Big Joe told me: “Little Joe (JP) had a good eye for photography”. BOY WAS HE WRONG! JP doesn’t have “a” good eye. He has two amazing eyes with imagination and vision. Your shots certainly captured Lisa’s and Darren’s happiness as well as the joyous celebration. The beautiful flower shots on your website say, “Awesomeness by Fleurtacious Design”. The true beauty was in the colorful and breathtaking presentations of the flowers by Kris Ann. Spectacular job by Fleurtacious Design! Let’s not forget Saratoga National Golf Club (677 Prime). The day couldn’t have gone any smoother from arrival to departure. Everything was done to perfection with the food being outrageously superb. I just realized that this is the first time I ever hit a TRIFECTA at Saratoga. Wonderful job JP! Walk proud Big Joe. Thanks for an outstanding job! Frank & Maryrose (Lisa’s parents)

  5. Emilia (09.24.09)
