jessica & jason: saratoga national

May 4 2009

I’m so excited to share these images with you guys this week. I’m excited because I love them! Going into this wedding I knew we’d come home with great images because of Jessica & Jason’s awesome personalities and energy. To put it simply, these two had smiles on their faces all day long and we enjoyed capturing it.

So Friday was calling for like a 50% of rain but when we arrived at the it was all good. It never did rain and The Zaborowski’s attributed that to their rosaries hung outside, I guess it works! Anyway upon arrival Jess was ready and looking great as always. Alayne from Make me Fabulous did an excellent job on the ladies hair & makeup. Did I mention I’ve known the Jessica & her sister for a while? I always enjoy how fun their company is and I knew photographing them would be a blast. Besides the all American Zaborowski household was a perfect studio to start the day in. Their ceremony was at Saratoga Dance Museum where guests arrived in yellow school buses. The space looked great with some cool tree’s in the entrance way. This is always a nice room for ceremonies or smaller events.

Then it was off to Saratoga National to party! But not right away. We first took some golf carts out onto the course for some of that good stuff. After that Jessica & Jason’s cocktail hour was a Vegas theme. Why Vegas? Well according to Jennifer’s awesome toast, that’s where Jessica & Jason fell in love. The guests were loving the craps and roulette table’s. A surprise to Jess and Jason’s folks was a barbershop quartette that sang tunes throughout the whole cocktail hour and a half. This was a first we’ve seen it and it was very cool. The room was looking tight, Fleurtacious Designs did it again! Jessica love’s babies breath so Kris Ann hooked it up. The entertainment? The New York Players and they’ve added a bunch of new tunes as they do every season. Next wedding you go to and they play at make sure to request “Word Up” by Cameo.. I know you remember that one. Anyway, what a great wedding to start the month of May with. Jess & Jason, we had a great time with you guys and thank you for letting us be part of your day.

Enjoy, leave love.

When a bride walks down the stairs looking this good and happy you know its going to be a good day.

What a great room to shoot in.

These two can be total goofs and I love it.

A little HDR of the dance museum:

Gentlemen take notes. Jason rocking a nice HUGO tux here:

How great are their reactions? Think their made for each other?

I’m never afraid to push the envelope by asking a bride to lay down in a white dress. I knew Jess would be game.

My favorite of the day…

What a great sky too!

I snagged a few treats. Also how bout those cake’s?

Another awesome first dance…. the pressure.

A heartfelt toast by the maid of honor Jennifer.

This series pretty much sums up the party. Jess and Jason dance and smiled all night long.

  5. pam zaborowski (05.4.09)

If you don’t have Joe and JP as your photographers, you simply don’t HAVE photographers. They capture images but, more importantly, they capture the energy of the evening. I can’t wait until Jennifer gets married so I can ask them to be part of the family again! When Jessica got engaged we called JP hours later to see when they were available!! Thanks guys!

sara & asa: canfield casino

May 1 2009

Sara & Asa’s Canfield Casino wedding was superb! They had an unusually warm day for April but I know any couple would take a day like this year round. Anyone who knows me knows The Canfield Casino is my favorite room of all time in fact Kris Ann & myself will be using this very room for our 2010 wedding, but this blog post is not about us, it’s about Sara & Asa.

So we met up with Sara at the hotel in Saratoga, Alane from Make Me Fabulous was just putting some finishing touches on Sara when we arrived. We had a whole new crew of bridesmaids all dressed, all on time and looking good as well. After a some getting ready shots with Sara and Mom we moved out onto Broadway for some portraits with the girls. This crew of ladies was another fun bunch and had some beautiful looking flowers by Kris Ann at Fleurtacious Designs, nice job Kris Ann.

Then it was off to the Casino to meet with with Asa and the guys. We opted to do the guy photos in the awesome bar area since it was a little warm & bright outside. We didn’t want the guys to wilt ;) but seriously I love that bar, its just so legit and classic. Shortly thereafter Sara & the ladies arrived and we did a first look. It was fantastic, we finished up all the family and bridal party photos prior to the scheduled 5 o’clock ceremony. The ceremony was held in the parlor, as most are at The Casino. Sara & Asa wrote their own vows which had people tearing up all around. It was a great ceremony.

Later into the cocktail hour Al Woodard, who we worked with again this weekend and myself pulled Sara & Asa in the dining room and then outside for some photos in the good light. Seriously it was the good light, a sweet time of day to shoot. Did I mention Glen Sanders catered this wedding too? The food was awesome as usual . The party was a fun time as well, City Rhythm held it down and had the people on the floor all night. All and all, another great wedding to finish off the month of April with, looking forward to what May brings.

Enjoy, leave love,
JP

A great shot of a proud and happy mother.

Alane from Make Me Fabulous doing her thang.

A good looking bunch of fun ladies..

Love this portrait of Sara, the eyes draw you right in don’t they?

Some nice fluers by Kris Ann at Fleurtacious Designs

Classic, I imagine most photos back in the day taken in this very spot would look similar.

Gotta get a cigar shot right?

A nice series of their first look.

Go get your bride Asa..

I love when it just happens. A real kiss.

Playing around with a little HDR photography here.

I gotta give Kris Ann some face time as well… she did do an awesome job on the room.

This is my favorite Casino light. June weddings get spoiled with this light until like 9pm.

Remember their engagement shoot?

Here are two from my favorite series all day.

The “on deck” spot for getting announced into the room never fails for an energetic image like this.
