alex & bob: engagement shoot

Posted in: Engagements

October 20 2008

Here is the last of the 4 engagement shoots I shot last week, Alex & Bob. In a little less then a year from now Alex & Bob will be married and we’ll be right there with them as they tie the knot. I had a great time getting to know a little about these guys and their engagement story. It’s fun to hear those stories and visualize how it all went down, such a special time. We decided to shoot in downtown Albany on that last hour of light during the fall days, as you scroll down this blog you’ll see the progression of sunset, pretty neat.

Another busy week of updates, I have three more for you this week so check back-

    Bravo, JP!

  2. Al Woodard (10.21.08)

I am certain that I have just learned something very important by viewing these photos and reading ” DAD’s ” post. It is definitely all about the light, and here you have used it masterfully. Awesome stuff J.P., way to push it forward!

  3. Bob (10.21.08)

JP, simply awesome man! You got some fantastic shots! We had such a great time with you and look foward to working with you (and your dad) at our wedding.

    ~Bob

  4. Alex (10.20.08)

  5. Joe (dad) (10.20.08)

    Joe,
Although I’ve never commented , simply have to here: As I have always said ,” not the camera – not the lense
“It’s all about the light “, You’ve captured it here wonderfully .
I am certain both Alex & Bob will be very happy with the results.
    Congratlations – Alex & Bob .

jillian & john: engagement shoot

Posted in: Engagements

October 20 2008

I’m setting off week four of “blogtober” with an engagement shoot I shot last Tuesday in Saratoga Springs. The colors in these shots are magnificent, I’m loving it. Jillian & John are getting married in Hilton Head next August, unfortunately we’re not going to be shooting their wedding. That being said, just because we’re not shooting your wedding doesn’t mean we can’t shoot your engagement photos. I really love engagement shoots, so much fun.

Enjoy, this week has a bunch of updates on the way for you-
JP

WOW! The colors…

An iconic wall in downtown toga…

Sometimes all you need is a patch of color beside a parking lot.

Just 4 shots of a 25 image series.

lisa & jerome: engagement shoot

Posted in: Engagements

October 17 2008

Take two Dave Matthews Band fans throw in strong love & passion for the New York Yankees and you have Lisa & Jerome, a perfect union. When Lisa & Jerome came in over the summer to meet with me and I was listening to DMB and they knew I was a hardcore Yankee fan from already seeing this post on my blog, it was like a match made in heaven. Every time I talk to Lisa over the phone or email we always talk Yankees first. We vent and complain, then we talk about the wedding. That’s the kind of relationship we love having with our clients.

This was my second engagement shoot on this day and I had just as much fun with Lisa & Jerome as I did at the first shoot. We decided to shoot in downtown Troy since their August 2009 wedding is at Franklin Plaza. We wanted to try and keep things consistent with their wedding and engagement photos. So on their big day we will visit these same locations and tie it all together.

I had fun hanging out and photographing you both, looking forward to your wedding. BTW the Yanks are scheduled to play the White Sox on your day.

First photo I took, I kid you not…

Lisa told me something funny about that statue behind them to the right…

I love the expressions here.

Off to the famous alley…

Probably the nicest piece of canvas in Troy.

sara & asa: engagement shoot

Posted in: Engagements

October 17 2008

It’s that time of year again, the fall. The fall is the most popular time of year for us when it comes to weddings and engagement shoots. In this post I want to share with you some photos from a shoot this past Monday at Indian Ladder Farms with upcoming bride and groom to be Sara & Asa.

Sara and Asa wanted to do something a little more unique to them for their engagement shoot. Asa grew up relatively close to Indian Ladders Farm and they wanted to shoot in fall. When I spoke with Sara I told her I did an engagement shoot there last fall. Remember? Sara liked my idea so we went with it. The farm was jam packed with apple pickers and cider doughnut enthusiasts but we made the best of this location during it’s peak season and probably their busiest day of the year.

We look forward to their spring 2009 wedding. I had a great time photographing you both. Enjoy!
JP

Did I mention Sara & Asa’s 4 month of Vizsla puppy Jillian tagged along?

That signature green paint of Indian Ladders….
