danaea & mike: hall of springs

Posted in: Weddings

January 24 2012

Ok! It’s on blog stalkers! Thats right, the 2012 season has begun. With a nice 4 week break and a couple holidays sprinkled in between, we found ourselves back in it. Who better to set off the 2012 wedding season with than Danaea and Mike? I mean it’s my favorite wedding of the 2012 season. Ha ha, I know its the ONLY wedding of 2012! I do love this couple though. So lets get into it!

Ok, the big question was “will there be snow?”. It’s been a mild winter to say the least and believe me, I’m not complaining at all. I wish it never snowed! That being said, it you have your wedding in January through March there should be some snow. While driving to this wedding right around 2 exits south of Saratoga I noticed some snow coverage. I was like hellz to the yes and thank you. There was snow! After I saw that, I knew Danaea and Mike would be down to go outside. Oh, did I mention it was like 20? Word, frosty out there. We set it off at the Gideon Putnam hotel which is my new favorite hotel in Saratoga. It just looks like a classic hotel and has so much charm about it. Waiting in the lobby was wedding coordinator, Christine Wheat and her iPad with the time line. How cool? I hope this is a theme this year with coordination, you all need it. Stop lying to yourselves! My lovely and talented wife Kris Ann, of Fleurtacious Designs was on the team too. She beat me to Danaea’s room too. We have this thing when we work together of who can arrive first. Another key player of capturing memories was Al Woodard. Are you surprised? No, this is how we all roll. A tight knitted crew is what Danaea and Mike wanted, thats what we gave them!

After the getting ready photos commenced with bounced downstairs and began photographing Danaea and her girls. It was easy because there was so much beauty going on. Plus, the flowers looked awesome. I love me a black and white theme! Off at the Hall of Springs waited an anxious groom. Mike was so ready to see his beautiful bride, Danaea. So we had the first look and then just had a blast with these two. Back when I photographed them in Boston, I knew it was going to be so fun come wedding day. Sure, it was freezing and all that but these two brought their A-Game. Come on now, you only do this once! Once our session was done we all regrouped as the room filled up with guests. Mike’s father took over at this point and married these two. How cool and special is that? There ceremony was full of laughs and emotions. After they walked down the aisle it was on! I must say this was a partying wedding. The first time City Rhythm started playing during dinner the floor was packed. It pretty much stayed that way all night. The Elario Photo Booth was hopping as well. Hayden knows how to get the people going! What a night!

I must say to Danaea and Mike, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you over the past year. I knew once we met we’d be friends. Kris Ann and I have enjoyed our dinners in Boston and Albany. You’re both awesome people and super fun to be around. I wish I could shoot your wedding every weekend! :) We’re happy to have set 2012 off with you guys. Thanks so much for trusting us to capture this special day for you! Congrats!

Peace,
JP

Who could forget these two from their beautiful North End engagement session?

January 14th 2012..

The Louboutin’s..

Danaea, getting made fabulous..

All the girls watched while Danaea opened her gifts from Mike.

Who doesn’t love something from Cartier? Shout out to Danaea’s mom Laurie, (my instagram pal) in the top left image..

I love this getting ready shot.

Yep, its going to be a good day.

Meanwhile in the guys suite… Step 6 is the most confusing..

Mike pretty much smiled like this all day..

because he was going to marry her..

One of my favorites of Danaea.

Dad saw Danaea for the first time and hugged her and really didn’t want to let go.. It was sweet.

Did someone order some hotness from Fleurtacious Designs ?

All stunning.. can I shoot all your weddings? If you’re already married its ok, just get married again!

That gown was perfect for Danaea..

The boys.. I was competing with Kosta for best hair..

Looking sharp my man..

A fun little first look series.. Look at Mike’s face in that one image!

Caught ya..

It was cold but all 16 of them hung in there..

A little backlight warmed it up though..

I love the way the light is catching their profiles..

Danaea and Mike killed the configuration both at their engagement session and the wedding..

The fur was pretty but Danaea wanted to loose it..

I must have said something funny because I’m a riot (not).

My facebook (lets be friends) teaser… I love this image.

Another favorite..

Ok one more. I thought they were going to turn into an ice sculpture here.. Love the light and shadows though..

The ceremony space.. More in the round please!

Mike waits for Danaea and Dad..

Always a great moment with the bride and her father before they walk down the aisle..

Mike’s father officiated the ceremony. It was so special.

Mr & Mrs..

The Hall of Springs iced out with some beautiful creations from Fleurtacious Designs

Making an entrance..

First dance.. if you have a first dance in the Hall of Springs you MUST spin your bride around! ;)

A little pano of the room..

Instead of wedding cake Danaea and Mike had this awesome popcorn bar.. The popcorn was flavored. Two of my favorites were buffalo wing and pickle. Yes pickle, Danaea’s favorite flavor, it was really good too! Popcorn from: Popcorn Papa.

As all brides and grooms should do Danaea and Mike partied their asses off. (“OMG he said ass” yup! :)

And when they weren’t partying they were in the Elario Photo Booth wilding out in front of “Spangled” from drop it MODERN.

Ok.. seeing double? Who has the better hair? ;)

One of my favorites..

Snow bunnies

Congrats you two!!

Awesome!!! JP when you started with “It’s my favorite wedding of 2012″ and it was the first, I laughed and shook my head… until I started catching these images. Wow. Um, yea it’s early and all but this is probably going to be one of my favorites as well.

What do I love about it? Details! Everything! Danaea and Mike – your e-session rocked (well you know that I think that!) and this was equally beautiful. You look stunning in your dress, truly stunning. And I love how all your girls have their own hangers. The maids dresses were very unique how they were flowy – very nice!

The first look – adorable, especially the little moment of emotion afterwards. So sweet. Again, who doesn’t get emotional in some way after that???

HOS in the round – loving that too. And when family or someone close officiates it just makes it all the more special.

I can’t stay focused, there’s too much to comment on! The fleurs were beautiful (as usual Kris Ann!), the party looked rockin – and AWESOME ring shot. :)

Congratulations guys!!!! :) This was awesome. :)

Big Joe and JP – great start to 2012 :) See you soon hopefully!!!

  2. Tracy (01.26.12)

Wow. That last photo is PERFECT.

  3. Dale (01.26.12)

Those shoes are SICK! Wow! Love the photos, and the photo booth looked rockin’!

  4. christine wheat (01.25.12)

Thank you so much for sending this couple my way JP. They were so much fun! Love the iPad shout out too. I think my fav from this blog is the “dad hug” and “groom tear”…you can’t fake that emotion and you are always right there to capture it. Awesome images!

  5. Theresa (01.25.12)

What beautiful shots ! A great looking couple too ! Everything looked so perfect . And the flowers were simply elegant. What more could you ask for ?

  6. Aunt Gina (01.24.12)

OMG, what can I say???? You have captured everything that made this whole affair so very special and beautiful. From the engagement to the wedding, you captured the real Danaea and Michael and their love for each other. It was a PERFECT WEDDING and these pictures capture it perfectly Can’t wait to see the proofs. It truly was a wonderful way to start 2012 !!!!! Thank You for the wonderful pictures and everything you” All” did to make Danaea and Michaels engagement and wedding a wonderful memory for our families!!!

  7. Cindy (01.24.12)

Beautiful I love how her mom during the ceremony was touching both her husband and I am assuming her own mom or mil. The day looked perfect.

  8. Joe Elario (01.24.12)

. . . this is great . . . .. period , Thanks North-End guys ( go big blue ) for deciding on ” Elario Photo Inc.’ . Also . why not get married in the off season ? Although, Saratoga Springs is never Off.

  9. marianne (01.24.12)

Is it just me or does the bride look like Kate Middleton? This is a beautiful wedding and I love the all white flowers. Nicely done!

  10. Justin Bailey (01.24.12)

A great start to 2012, congratulations. The snow and sun shots are fantastic – we mostly get dull grey skies when it snows in UK, you are very lucky! 20F = -6C, yep that’s cold.

  11. Elaine (01.24.12)

Great blog to start off 2012!! The bar is set high for the rest of the year! I LOVE Danaea’s shoes! So fun! And her dress fit her perfectly… so pretty! I love the simple white of all the flowers and center pieces, and how each bridesmaid had a different bouquet! I have no doubt that it was cold that day, but you honestly can’t tell at ALL from the images! Danaea and Mike are so photogenic – they make such a beautiful couple! Their images before the wedding are amazing. But I LOVE that black and white one where he’s leaning in to kiss her on the cheek! It’s just so sweet. *sigh* Are you sure it isn’t taboo to have another wedding if you’re already married (and it’s too soon to renew your vows!)?? :) This was definitely a wedding blog that makes me want to get married all over again. And I’m seriously considering ordering some dill pickle popcorn! Great job, as always, JEP – miss you and Big Joe!

  12. Kris Ann (01.24.12)

I have been waiting for this post!! I love these two, they are an amazing couple and you can just tell in the photos how their energy just radiates ! I had a great time meeting with the couple and both sets of parents! After that I couldn’t WAIT till the wedding, I knew it would be a blast! Thanks for choosing Fleurtacious Designs it was our pleasure…. I am sure we will catch up in the North End sometime soon!

  13. Brenda's Wedding Blog (01.24.12)

what an absolutely stunning wedding – gorgeous photos and what a venue. Love the circular seating for the ceremony. Also LOVING that sparkly photo booth backdrop. And, what a great popcorn bar!!!

  14. Natalia (01.24.12)

If this is the way 2012 is starting off, it’s going to be one hell of a year! Loved everything about this wedding – she has impeccable style. Congrats you guys, the rest of the 2012 b&g’s have a lot to live up to! :)

  15. Jamie B (01.24.12)

Wow. what a kick off for 2012 weddings… stunning couple… love the flowers, the color scheme, i think my fave shots are of the bridal party watching the bride open her gifts (from the doorway) so cute :) the dad hugging his daughter shot…absolutely wonderful….the first look series… the bride and groom forks were a sweet touch to the details !! the outdoor shots are fantastic… love the lighting and the bravery of the couple to be out in the cold for those shots…totally worth it though :) Congratulations Danaea and Mike!!!
    PS JP- your hair wins.

January 20 2012

OK peeps, I’m back in action! This past week I was in New Orleans for Imaging USA. I must say, I loved Nawlins! This is a must visit city and I’m so glad I decided to go. I was on the fence about going to Imaging this year because right now Kris Ann and I are deep in a major kitchen renovation! It was hard to leave the construction zone but a nice room at the W Hotel made me forget all about it (sorry babe).

ps. All the New Orleans photos other than the instagrams were taken with my Nikon V1 which is a fun little camera and I highly recommend it. Don’t worry when it comes to professional, I’m still a Canon guy.

While in New Orleans I did the touristy thing! We visited Bourbon St which was fun. It’s just crazy down there.

I did a little speaking thang at Miller’s Lab and mpix pro’s booth… I’ll be speaking at their booth at WPPI this year. Also I have a platform class so please pre board if you wanna hear what I have to say!

My photo BFF Dale Benfield , and I took a morning to explore the French Quarter. Cafe Du Monde, was a highlight for sure. Dale and his wife Meredith are really wonderful photographers in Arkansas and dear friends to me! Follow their blog, its fun!

Here are some of my instagrams while in New Orleans.. I told you guys last year to get on instagram because its the bomb. One year later and I’m still loving it. How about drop it MODERN’s booth all spangled out? Looks sweet, but not as good as Emeril’s gumbo!  Follow me if you don’t, my instagram name is jpelario.

Want one? Come see us This Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Glen Sanders Mansion. The bridal show is the only one we do. The hours are 11:00am – 3:00pm.

Oh yeah!! I shot this awesome wedding before I went to New Orleans. Be sure to check back next week for their blog! Congrats to Danaea and Mike!!

Last but not least, the winnner of the 2011 favorite wedding from the first half contest was Marie and Chris! They won a Luxe frame with this image in it from Millers Lab!! Congrats to you guys! All that campaigning on facebook sure helped!

hayden’s photo booth picks!

Posted in: Best Of, Weddings

January 18 2012

Hi everyone!!! For those of you who don’t know me I’m the new addition to the Elario family business.  You may recognize me from the blog as the photo booth girl, but recently the girl who is posing for “wind shots” and making silly faces.  That isn’t what I do all day! I am busy carrying impressive amounts of equipment keeping the Elarios hydrated and even third shooting (It is such an honor to work with true professionals)!!!

This is MY blog post (thanks Joe!!!) featuring the best of the best from the photo booth 2011 wedding season.  Thank you to all the couples who had the photo booth at their wedding. I had an amazing time taking fun pics of you and your friends and family!

These are my handpicked favorites, in no particular order.

My first photo booth of the year was kicked off at Franklin plaza with Meaghan and Rob! Meaghan is totally bringing it in this pic!

I got to know Mel and Chris really well in 2011! I love these two! Even though I picked a classic bride and groom shot don’t let them fool ya these two are fuuuuuun!

We will be seeing this couple again!

This couple had this amazing energy! They were definitely doin it!

The Elario’s own Jenny and her man Eddie had a beautiful wedding at Canfield Casino where every detail was designed by Jenny herself! Check out her website!

The girls of Elario Photography finally got a pic together! We work on opposite sides of the E spectrum!

Joe or “Jp” got in the booth and busted a move with Kristina and Matt!

I love this shot of Stephanie and Ted. Their photo booth pics are full of priceless moments from their May wedding.

This couple finally confessed to Jp they’re blogs talkers. You can check out Giovanni’s post here!

These ladies were so wild! They were together all night having the best time!!!

This picture is so sweet! Abi and Brads wedding was unforgettable! Christine Wheat was just showing off her skills for sure this day!

I had to kiss this grandma because she was beyond precious!!!

I loved Melissa and Dave’s wedding!!! Great music pumping all night!

The remote is a fun prop! Whenever anyone asks me what my remote is, my go to joke is that it’s my cell phone!

Nicole and Nicks wedding was full of familiar faces from the year!

A really fun group of people that know how to partay!! Btw Nicole, your father daughter dance was unforgettable. I was in tears!!!!

Naomi and Joe had a beautiful wedding and kept the booth busy all night with fun pics!

Granny even got in the booth for some pics, and this one is just priceless!

Melissa and Andrew’s Canfield Casino wedding was full of moments like this!

My girl Brooke, knows everyone, and she’s an awesome wedding guest!

Love this pic of Amanda and Kevin! It shows their personalities!!!

This best man was in the booth all night posing with everyone and everything!

Jessica and Jason’s beautiful Sagamore wedding was picture perfect thanks to Christine Wheat wedding planner extraordinaire!

I love this shot of Jess with her friends! This wedding rocked the photo booth.

This couple took some of the BEST photo booth pics of the year!

I had the pleasure of spending the whole day with Isabel and Dave, I just loved their wedding!!! This pic is so sweet!

Joe or “JP” is a goofy too!!!!! HAHA!

The bubble!!! I die!!! ( a little something I picked up from Amanda’s family)

A FUN pic of a FUN bride and groom! Amanda and Shane had an unforgettable wedding!!!

Phenny’s wedding was THE BOMB! Not only did they *sparkle* thanks to Katie O’, but Phenny is a force!

This picture just makes me burst out laughing! No matter what these two did the birds wouldn’t move!!!

Even though I wasn’t there, my friend Chris filled in for me and wow did I miss a good time! Katelynn and Wallen this pic is fierce!

WHAT?! look at that backbend!

JP actually called after this wedding to tell me how much I would’ve looooved it! Natalia and Carlos, your photo booth
pics are amazing! Every pic looks like the best time, I can even hear the music in this one!

Love that everyone in this pic is doin it in their own way!

The girls were the stars of the booth this wedding! Love the masks and this pic!

A sweet pic of Tanya and Dylan, they were such a fun couple to be around!

I have a special place for Carley and Robert because these two were UNBELIEVABLE. Nothing stood in their way of
getting beautiful photos and and the same time always finding time for moments like this.

Pretty fish faces!

Marisa and Chris’ wedding was a PARTY!!!

This couple had everyone’s attention they were dancing circles around everyone!

I ended my 2011 pb season with Chelsea and Shawn.  It was a dance party all night, they did take a break to come sit with us and chill for a bit.

To the FABULOUS 2012 Elario couples and guests:
If you see a flight attendant  smiling and saying “amaaaaazing, WOW, and you’re DOIN IT!”" it’s me! Jump in the booth and lets have some fun!
I’m looking forward to another year of funny, crazy, and priceless moments preserved forever in the booth!

JP here.. Sorry Hayden, I couldn’t resist sharing this one.. This is why we all love having you around..

rachael & danny: historic barns engagement session

Posted in: Engagements

January 16 2012

Yup, we’re back at the barns my friends! Why not? This place is freaking awesome. I really love shooting at The Historic Barns of Nipmoose! I just can’t get enough of this place and really really want to shoot a wedding there. If you’re a future bride to be who’s reading this blog you know you want your wedding there!

When we planned this session it was suppose to be a snow session. Normally when you plan snow sessions you can just wait for the snow but not in Rachael and Danny’s case. These two were visiting from way down under in Melbourne, Australia and had to get home. Although it wasn’t snowing or snowy it sure felt like winter. Especially for poor Danny, an Austrian native. Rachael, on the other hand is no stranger to the lovely weather we can get here in the northeast. I’m sure after that session she was reminded why she’s living in Melbourne and not here! I had a fun time with these guys because thats what you do on engagement sessions, you have fun. I can’t wait for the next time they come thru because it will be their June wedding and Danny, don’t worry it should be warm ;)

Peace,
JP

Meet Rachael and Danny…. wedding date June 22, 2012

I love all the tones here..

A little lens flare never hurt nobody..

It might look warm but it was chilly..

I’m bringing that Elario Configuration to Melbourne!

I love the patterns in the corn crib.. The corn crib never fails. Corn crib for life haha!

so sweet.

Another stunning spot is the aspen grove.

Ok, time to bundle up and get warm.

This looks like a warm little spot..

Long shadows and backlight.. My favorite.

I made them loose the wool and scarfs.. this was my facebook teaser.

Ahhh.. the tones and the texture.

Miss Rachael looking pretty pretty. Hair and Makeup: Make Me Fabulous.

and we’ll end with my token “bling shot”

hey!!!

NIPMOOSE! I love the ones in the corn crib with that crazy light!!!! Nipmoose always has a great way of being able to look just a little different each time (I say “always”, we’ve seen 3 e-sessions there so far but you know what I mean). I do love this place and really hope to see a bride take advantage of this historic grounds for a wedding soon. ANyways, back to the couple who braved a cold day (good thing it wasn’t as cold as it’s been this week, huh?) You guys look great!!! Super comfortable with each other and the camera. Love it. Don’t worry danny, June will certainly be warmer!!! Great stuff. :)
